Barking Treefrog
Hyla gratiosa

Wallpaper Description

A native of the South-eastern states in the US, this plump treefrog spends most of his time in the tops of trees during the summer which he can easily climb as he comes equipped with specially adapted foot pads. When it gets colder, he will burrow into the ground for moisture. Barking treefrogs come in a variety of colors, but if stressed, they will often lose their darker blotches and appear lighter. They are nocturnal insectivores and are secretive. Due to loss of their habitat, they are decreasing in numbers.
