Once found throughout Southeast Asia and southern China, Orangutans are now found only in Borneo and Sumatra. This adorable baby Orangutan is from Borneo. When she is not making faces, she is clinging to her mom to whom she holds tightly for nearly the first four years. She will spend almost her entire life in the trees in her forest home. Wild Orangutans are now critically endangered, and number less than 25,000. They are losing their home rapidly to logging, mining and the pet trade. Before you buy any hardwood product, check to be sure it's not from Indonesia and has been grown and harvested in a low impact manner.
