This baby African elephant weighed about 265 pounds at birth and will weigh about 6 tons when he is full grown. He will be taken care of by his extended family herd of female elephants for many years. When he is a teenager, he will leave his herd and roam alone or with some other males in small "bachelor herds" for most of his 70 years.
