These huge white bears inhabit the extreme far north living offshore on the pack ice. Right now, their greatest threat is the ever shrinking ice pack due to climate change. And, female polar bears need solid ice so they can dig a den in the ice and give birth over the winter. A polar bear who has had an unsuccessful hunt may show his frustration by throwing chunks of ice or kicking the snow. Sound familiar?
