Little Tinamou

Even with a haunting call as heard in this ringtone, the Little Tinamou is a hard bird to spot. Primarily found at elevations greater than 2000m in the dense forests of central and south America, this small bird spends most of its time of the forest floor hidden by leaves and other debris. The long narrow beak allows the Little Tinamou to easily pick out little berries and seeds. This secretive little bird is a threatened species which has been heavily impacted by human development and deforestations throughout its range.
