Limpkin Screaming

This unmistakable scream is the call of the limpkin. Once nearly eliminated in its Florida home, Limpkins still face a lot of pressure from loss of habitat as wetlands are drained for homes and agriculture. Limpkins are further limited by their nearly exclusive food of apple snails. Their beaks are perfectly designed to eat them and they can be seen sight fishing for them in marshes and other fresh water areas.
