Crimson-winged Parakeet

Commonly found in northern and eastern Australian woodlands and occasionally in New Guinea, this showy green parrot with bright red wings has a voice well suited to calling to its other flock members. Our ringtone captures the persistent call and like his friends, you might not miss this one calling from your pocket either! Also known as the Red Winged Parrot, these birds feed on eucalyptus seeds, flowers, berries and insects. They are sometimes kept as pets, and if you are interested having them in your home, either adopt or make sure you buy from a qualified domestic breeder. Wild caught birds are illegal and they are frequently aggressive when caged.
