American Goldfinch

Appropriately named, the American Goldfinch is a beautiful small bright yellow bird found throughout North America. Particularly find of thistles, when the seeds become abundant in the summertime, goldfinches can be found covering these flowers as they eat the seeds. A great way to attract these little birds to your backyard is with a thistle feeder. This ringtone is typical sound of these lively finches who molt twice each year to change their feathers from the bright breeding plumage to a more dull winter plumage and then back again.
