Papillon dog
Canis lupus familiaris

This little Papillion dog's comes from a long line of small spaniels. You can see some of her ancestors in European paintings from the 16th C, and her breed was a popular one in the French court of Louis XIV. This graceful little dog is alert and friendly and gets her name from her distinctive fringed ears that look like a butterfly ("Papillion" in French). Even though she may be small she still needs to be able to have some exercise each day outside to keep her active and happy.
