Moose in icy winter
Alces alces

Description
This huge bull moose is perfectly suited for surviving another cold winter in the north. With a very thick coat, temperatures of over 20 degrees F seem a little too warm! Found in northern forests in North America, Europe and Russia, and north of the Arctic circle. this largest member of the deer family is a really fast runner. Moose are directly affected by global warming, as with warmer temperatures, white tailed deer are moving into their area. The deer carry a parasite that in freezing temperatures is killed, but with warmer temperatures, the parasites survive and can kill the moose.
