White Rhinoceros
Ceratotherium simum

Description
Although some species of the white rhino are very endangered, the southern white rhino is a conservation success story. Thought to be extinct in the 19th century, a population of less than 100 was found in South Africa in 1895. Through protection and conservation, these rhinos have recovered so well that today they are the only rhino species not endangered.
